“Had a really good week at the Royal Beacon. The hotel and staff were great. Nothing was too much bother. Lovely location with a short walk to a decent restaurant. Only downside was the parking which most of the time would have been impossible to find. Luckily booked on of the few hotel parking spaces. Only about 8 spaces so l would recommend booking early. It’s a pity that the hotel will be closing in October to be turned into apartments. A sad goodbye because we would definitely gone back...

“Staff were great and worked hard to cover all areas - especially Stephen, Jason, Bella and Jay. Appeared to be under staffed sometimes. Hotel - Great location and lovely views. Room - was not so great. Our bed was uncomfortable. Pillows were very thin. There was no chest of drawers to store clothes. Room had some cobwebs above the wardrobe and door. “Property location is great with free transport to Salcombe town or Ferry from beach adjacent to hotel. Hotel room/accommodation had great view but was small. This was disappointing when considering the tariff for two rooms /4 nights accommodation. The bedroom lacked soundproofing, disturbed nights sleep for three nights due to noise from young children in next room, spoke to receptionist with little response!
