The property is perfectly fine for what it is, the cabin was clean and the facilities were adequate for my needs. However my experience during my “check in” leaves me with some concern for the professionalism of the lodge’s staff. I had made it clear that I would be arriving well past closing on the night of my arrival. They said my key and map to my cabin would be in the drop box next to the office door. I arrive close to 3am to find that my key was not in the drop box, the office was dark and there wasn’t a single person around to help with late arrivals, not a night watch or anything. I did eventually get to my cabin but only after finding out the office door was unlocked, and entered the dark office, going behind the desk to retrieve my key and resort map.
I find this lack of communication and security, the key not being in the drop box and the office being unlocked after hours respectively, to be rather concerning on behalf of guests. I hope that the owner of the resort has a good talking to the staff that were there that night to hopefully avoid this sort of situation.
