Where do I start?
Reception didn't answer phone. Room wasn't ready, alternative room wasn't set-up, didn't have enough robes, robes were only youth sized, coffee mugs, bath towels, no bedding for sofa bed or pillows, fridge didn't work, no air conditioning at all. Bedroom tv not working properly, bigger and better shower in a Travelodge. It took 2 hours and an extra call to reception to get the room essentials sorted. Bath towels were tiny, not sheets. All in all, we were so very disappointed, this establishment charges but doesn't deliver, they trade on their exterior look but seem to be let down by a lack of staff (who try very hard to cover-up the cracks) and/or someone in charge who could do the job of manager or "meet and greet". In fact, we never ever saw anyone who gave us any feeling of welcome, let alone apologises, or recompense for the lack of what we paid for, i,e, a night away for my 61st birthday. I thought that being a 4 star Country Club meant that we would be looked after. We in fact, felt that we were just another number, filing in and out. I booked your establishment because I thought I would be valued.
I wasn't, I begrudge paying £196 for a nights' stay. I must say however the breakfast was lovely. Regards,
Jeff Wenten-Cope.
