Unfortunately, my staycation was compromised by a bed bug infestation. When I presented the issue to the front desk, accompanied by the bed bugs on a hand towel, the clerk showed no concern and simply apologized. Following our 6 a.m. wake-up call, we devoted three hours to inspecting and bagging our belongings. The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance were substandard, featuring dirty linen, hair, burnt cigarette holes, inadequate water pressure, and a malfunctioning toilet. Our initial room assignment was unsuitable due to its proximity to the mechanical room, with frequent noise from machines and an adjacent ice machine. Moreover, the fridge contained leftover food from previous occupants. The staff's indifferent attitude persisted, including a dismissive response to my request for additional face towels. Presently, I am undertaking thorough cleaning and disinfection measures at home, including 30-minute dryer cycles for all items brought to the hotel.
