A historic country house set in a secluded and peaceful location but within easy reach of Barmouth. The hosts, Mike and Gretta, were friendly, approachable and offered many suggestions regarding things to do locally, as well as places to eat. It felt as though we had known them for years even though we had only just met.
The games room was a big hit with our 2 teenaged boys, as well as myself, and it was good to see them playing games that were not on their phones or games consoles. It was their first experience of playing darts and they loved it and we spent many an hour in the games room in the evenings during our short stay.
Due to the secluded location, it does get very dark at night, which takes a bit of getting used to, if you are from a town/city like us, and during our visit we heard some strange noises during the night, which Mike and Gretta told us was a barn owl that shelters in a small opening at the top of the house when the weather is bad.
We had a lovely 3-night stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in a peaceful and beautiful location with wonderful hosts.
