“Unknown to us, the hotel was undergoing renovations. The multiple dumpsters and construction vehicles littered throughout the property was disruptive to what we thought was going to a coastal-calm get away. Lobby area and our room had surface updates but the age and bones of the building were still evident. Elevator had glued on carpet tiles on the walls. We had opted for the second level tier room (not the Basic room) and had to question if we were assigned the right room when the extra big...

“The updates being done during the renovation are looking good. Our room had a king bed and full-size bunks...all quite comfortable. The kids loved the bunks! The room was nice and clean (still had a bit of the fresh paint smell, but it wasn’t horrible). The location is great, lots of chairs on the beach and the pool (not open yet) looked cute. “The room was great, just a few steps to the beach. Brien at the front desk made this a wonderful getaway for me. The staff always made aure i have frwsh towels and im sure that was thanks to Brien. It was a wonderful stay. I will be back in the fall!”

“Very nice and historic hotel distributed across various houses. Very friendly staff. Pictures on Hotels.com do not exactly match the actual rooms. E.g., although shown on the photo we could not see the sea from the bed. Bathrooms are very old and not appropriate for a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was Ok, dinner very nice. View from the restaurant was outstanding. On the last day the nice room was closed so that the breakfast had to be taken in a small backward looking room. Prices are very high.”

“Right on the beach, heated pools, tons of space (we had an ocean view room with a loft that sleeps 4 plus a pull out for 2 more). Within minutes drive to many restaurants. Sink, microwave and sink came very handy.”

“Superb location and great comforts while being in nature and adjacent to bike trails, a short drive from Wood’s Hole and beaches ! Wonderful yoga class too!”
